Glycemic Control and its Associated Factors among Elderly Diabetic Patients in a Tertiary Hospital in Lagos, Nigeria

Background: Glycaemic control in the elderly diabetic patient is highly individualized and achieving desired targets presence of comorbid conditions could be very challenging. This study was conducted to assess glycemic diabetics identify associated factors at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). Methods: A hospital-based, cross-sectional descriptive involving 199 randomly selected patients receiving care LUTH. pretested, interviewer-administered questionnaire used data collection, which include sociodemographic characteristics, clinical history, glycaemic control. Glycemic assessed using glycated haemoglobin (HBA1C). HBA1C<7.0% tight; 7-8% targeted >8% poor Associations between independent variables chi-square test its predictors identified by logistic regression analysis. Level significance set p<0.05.
